Well last night our exhaust hoods went out over the mesquite grills. Thankfully it was towards the end of dinner service. The hotel president was having dinner in one of the back dinning rooms so she did not realize that we were having any problems. That is until she got up to leave, at which time she asked what is going on? She was told that we were having a little problem with our exhaust hoods. She just covered her mouth and walked out. Security came at us from every direction. There was so much smoke I'm suprised that the fire alarms did not go off. When I left my eyes were burning and I could hardly stand the smokey smell on my drive home. My wife sure noticed the smell when I walked in the house. So did the dog. The tough part is we lost about 50 covers and had to comp several dinners due to the smoke. Not what we need in times like these.
